I have been a resident of the Edwardsville/Glen Carbon community for nine years. The quality of public school education was a major factor in my family's decision to move to this area. My two daughters are District 7 elementary school students, and I have been actively involved at their schools, utilizing my communication, marketing and fundraising expertise. As a current school board member, I have made strides toward increased transparency, communication and collaboration with all stakeholders. We have an outstanding school district, and I am committed to Moving District 7 Forward so that we can be even better.
My education includes a Bachelor of Journalism degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Missouri and an MBA in Marketing and Strategy from Washington University in St. Louis. I have more than 20 years of experience working in marketing and public relations, and I have also served on the boards for the Wildey Theatre and the Madison County Child Advocacy Center. At Goshen Elementary, I served as the Vice-President and Secretary of the PTO. Additionally, I was the Assemblies Chair, a member of the Accelerated Reader committee and a classroom volunteer. At Woodland Elementary, I have been a classroom volunteer, home room parent and a guest reader.
My involvement in our schools has given me a unique insight and perspective regarding how our district can be improved. Our children deserve to have access to the best education possible. The future of our community depends on them. I am excited to continue to serve our community in this role, and I would appreciate your support. It has been my honor to serve the children in District 7.
